Manchester United and Arsenal are both active players in the transfer market this year and intend to revamp their squads. Both clubs have expressed interest in signing Paulo Dybala in a bid to strengthen their squads.
According to a report published by Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport, the two Premier League giants are set to lose the race to sign the Argentine striker. Inter Milan are believed to be the favorites to secure Dybala’s signature and are at an advanced stage of their negotiations.
Paulo Dybala’s contract at Juventus is due to expire this month and the Bianconeri are ready to let him go on a free transfer. Dybala played a talismanic role for Juventus in his early years under Massimiliano Allegri but has since seen his form dwindle in Serie A.
The Argentine star, however, still has several years ahead of him in the top flight and Inter Milan could use his talents. The Nerazzurri conceded the Serie A title to rivals AC Milan this year and are also looking to improve their squad ahead of another title charge.
Manchester United and Arsenal are set to lose the signing of Paulo Dybala
Paulo Dybala is said to be in “total agreement” with Inter Milan and is just days away from joining the club. According to Italian media, his mother played a key role in the decision and managed to convince him to stay in Serie A.
Dybala is reportedly set to join Inter Milan on a four-year deal and could earn £6million a season at the club. As the Argentina international strikes a deal with the Nerazzurri, Arsenal and Manchester United will have to assess their other options in the transfer market.
Manchester United appointed Erik ten Hag as manager this year and are in desperate need of reinforcements after a poor season. The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League table and have a lot of work ahead of them in the transfer market.
Arsenal have a head start in their transition phase but have yet to qualify for the UEFA Champions League under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners built a team for the future but flattered themselves they cheated too often for their own taste.
With Inter Milan offering Paulo Dybala access to Europe’s elite competition, a move to one of the two Premier League giants is unlikely to be a priority for him. Dybala is also expected to earn a hefty salary with the Nerazzurri and his wages could deter Manchester United and Arsenal from pursuing his signing.
