A deal for Argentinian left-back Francisco Ortega is said to be “explored” by Celtic this summer.

After winning the Scottish Premiership title, competition for Greg Taylor seems to be a priority for Ange Postecoglou this summer.

Forgotten Boli Bolingoli looks set to lift the curtain on his spell at Celtic Park this summer, and Velez Sarsfield star Ortega appears to be on Parkhead’s wishlist.

The daily mail report that the 23-year-old has had positive drug reports and a deal is currently ‘explored’.

Postecoglou has distanced himself with a deal for Iraq international Mohanad Jeahze in recent weeks, and Ortega could present a viable alternative.

Reports in Sweden claim that Hammarby is preparing for a transfer for his full-back from Celtic and is considering replacing Jeahze.

Interest in Ortega comes with the transfer floodgates set to open at Celtic with a permanent move for Jota seemingly high on the agenda.

The winger is set for further talks with Parkhead when he returns from Ibiza vacation with the club ready to pay Benfica £6.5million to secure the player.

The Portuguese side should have a sell clause of up to 30%.
