Sergio Romero is in talks with LaLiga club Granada after leaving Manchester United in June after his contract expired.

Romero, who was Argentina’s No.1 in his run to the 2014 World Cup final, has spent the past six years at United but has never managed to compete with David de Gea for the place of no. ° 1.

A report in Athleticism say Granada, who faced United last season in the Europa League quarter-finals, should make an offer to Romero and his representatives.

Granada are looking for a new goalkeeper after their No.1 Rui Silva leaves for Real Betis and Romero would bring them a lot of experience.

The keeper may be in a rusty form, however, having only made 61 appearances since arriving from Sampdoria in 2015, including just seven in the Premier League.

Their biggest streak came in the 2016-17 Europa League campaign, starting 12 times as United won the trophy, beating Ajax 2-0 in the final.

He also appeared in a series of Europa League games last season, starting nine games before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unexpectedly turned to De Gea for the semi-final clash with Sevilla, whom they lost 2- 1.

Romero made no appearances last season, with Dean Henderson usurping him as the second-choice keeper behind De Gea and sometimes becoming the first-choice.

The 34-year-old, who started his career with Racing Club de Avellaneda in his native Argentina, has been his country’s first choice for much of his career – picking up 96 caps after his bow in 2009.
